Phil Wagler serves as the EFC's Global Liaison as part of the Centre for Faith & Public Life where he convenes relationships, collaborations, and action around global issues impacting the church in Canada and the global evangelical movement, and speaks and trains to strengthen evangelical public witness and mission. In his ministry and vocational experience Phil has served in pastoral, Bible college, global mission agency, and the World Evangelical Alliance and as Global Director of the Peace & Reconciliation Network.
Phil is author of several books, including the 2024 Word Guild award winner, Live Your Assignment: Being Christ's Ambassador in 7 Spheres of Life.
Phil grew up in Ontario. Becoming a devoted follower of Jesus was the surprising grace that emerged from a family tragedy when he was a teenager. His Mennonite spiritual heritage and discipleship at church developed in him a deep love for the Church actively living out the ways of Jesus in community and holistic mission. Phil and his wife Jen have six children and call Kelowna, B.C., home. They love learning about different cultures (spurred on by being an international family through the gift of adoption). Phil enjoys sports of all kinds, reading and that moment just after the kids go to bed.
