This Week’s Prayer Prompts This week's prayer prompt is about new reproductive technologies. New ways to treat illness and infertility are the goal of many reproductive and genetic technologies. However, there is a risk that vulnerable people may be exploited, such as infertile couples desperate to have a child or low-income women who may donate eggs or become surrogates out of financial need.
Pray for wisdom and sound judgment for governments and decision-makers about how to use these technologies. Pray for policies that protect, rather than destroy, human life and allow children to know their lineage or biological relatives Pray also for policies that protect vulnerable people from exploitation. Pray that children will not be commodified by these new technologies. Finally, pray for wisdom for men and women who consider starting families with these new technologies. Each week we also list an EFC affiliate organization to pray for. This week, pray for Pregnancy Care Canada, a Christ-centred national best practice organization dedicated to affirming the value of every life by equipping pregnancy care centres and local communities with resources, education, and support to compassionately serve those challenged by an unexpected pregnancy.
