What's a good definition for palliative care? How does it relate to euthanasia and medical assistance in dying? What role should religious volunteers play?

In this July 2018 submission to government, the EFC addresses five topics related to the development of a national palliative care framework: (1) definition of palliative care, (2) community engagement, (3) health care provider training and supports, (4) person and family-centred care, (5) research and data collection.

The government had asked for input on such issues between May 7, 2018 to July 13, 2018, intended to issue a report on its findings in September 2018, and released the actual palliative care framework Dec. 4, 2018.
