The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada expresses its sorrow at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and thanksgiving for her life of faithful service.
During her first Christmas message as Queen in 1952, she said: “Pray for me … that God may give me wisdom and strength to carry out the solemn promises I shall be making, and that I may faithfully serve Him and you, all the days of my life.” Queen Elizabeth shared often that her Christian faith was a central part of her life and her ability to serve the Commonwealth with such steadfastness and dignity
As a Commonwealth country, Canada is entering into several days of mourning. We join with our fellow Canadians and the rest of the world in expressing our condolences to Queen Elizabeth’s family and in offering our prayers during this time of grief as well as thanksgiving for her life and legacy marked by grace and wisdom.
