FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOV. 30, 2022 -- The Faith Today Podcast is launching a new series of conversations over the next few months focusing on faith, wellness, the Canadian church scene, chats with authors and more.

The podcast, now in its sixth season, is a production of the magazine Faith Today: Canada’s Christian Conversation, which has been serving Canadians since 1983.

This season the podcast is adding Bill Fledderus of Hamilton, Ont., as a second host alongside veteran host Karen Stiller of Ottawa. The duo already work together as editors of Faith Today magazine. Fledderus brings to the podcast the broad background of a book review editor, university journalism instructor and lay church leader.

He will alternate in the host chair with Karen Stiller, an author and editor who has written several books including the spiritual memoir The Minister's Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Doubt, Friendship, Loneliness, Forgiveness, and More (Tyndale House, 2020), to dialogue with guests who are leaders and shapers of Canadian Christian culture and Church in Canada.

Episode 201, which kicks off the lively new season, features B.C. author Carla Funk who leads listeners through the benefit of writing their own life stories and provides practical tips to get started. Ensuing episodes will discuss the East Coast theology initiative at Acadia Divinity College, caring for caregivers, why scriptwriting, acting and directing are important Christian callings, what we can do at home to help children grow in their relationship with Jesus, and how to employ Christian principles to ensure healthier workplaces.

“We’re really excited about this new season,” says Stiller. “We have really fun conversations on the podcast with interesting people, and we think the result is helpful and enjoyable for a wide range of Canadian Christians.”

“When we first started the podcast, it was really about building out from stories that appeared in the print edition of the magazine,” says Fledderus. “Now we feel the freedom to go further to explore other topics we think Canadian Christians are interested in, topics that can help them in their daily and work lives. It’s also really rewarding to hear from listeners who say they tune in and find these conversations encouraging and enlightening.”
