TORONTO, ON – In the wake of new rules for employers applying for the Canada Summer Jobs grant, a diverse group of faith leaders will gather in Toronto on Thursday to release an inter-faith statement signed by 80 religious leaders, organizations and institutions, and discuss the impact the new rules will have on faith-based charitable organizations.
To be eligible for funding, employers must affirm an attestation that both the job and the organization’s core mandate respect certain “values” determined by the federal government. Organizations unable or unwilling to endorse the attestation have been told they will be ineligible for the grant.
