We grieve with the families and friends who lost loved ones, and those who were wounded in the horrific attack on the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas. It is an act that defies our sensibilities. How do we comprehend the anger, the hatred, the rage that fuels such action; mass killings that are becoming too frequent? An attack on a people meeting in a place of worship is particularly heinous and it impacts not only others of like-faith, but people of all faiths who meet together in worship around the world.
We stand with the congregation of First Baptist, and we encourage prayer for the community of Sutherland Springs as they grieve and mourn, and begin the process of healing and restoration. May God comfort them and bring healing to all impacted.
