EFC Magazine Faith Today Adds New Editor

15 May 2013

RICHMOND HILL, ONT. – The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, publisher of the award-winning magazine Faith Today, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen J. Bedard of Cambridge, Ont., as the new associate editor of Faith Today

Bedard is an editor, writer, pastor, chaplain and scholar who brings considerable skill and experience. He has served as adjunct instructor of New Testament at Emmanuel Bible College and as sessional lecturer of New Testament at Tyndale University College & Seminary. He is editor of Hope’s Reason: A Journal of Apologetics, co-author of Unmasking the Pagan Christ: A Response to the Cosmic Christ Idea (Clements Publishing, 2006) and author of several other books. He is also an avid blogger, for example at www.1peter315.wordpress.com.

“My personal mission is to equip Christians to articulate and defend their faith in a reasonable, relevant and respectful way. I see this as closely related to the purpose of Faith Today,” says Bedard. “This magazine has a unique role in being a resource for Canadian Evangelicals from every tradition. It brings attention to the important issues of the day and offers thoughtful, intelligent and challenging responses to them. I’m looking forward to joining in.”

Bedard joins senior editors Bill Fledderus and Karen Stiller to form a creative editorial team that EFC leaders believe will carry Faith Today forward to an exciting and successful future in service to the evangelical church in Canada, a diverse sector estimated to include four million Canadians.

“We welcome Steve Bedard to the team,” says Bruce J. Clemenger, president of the EFC and publisher of Faith Today. “His experience and his passion for the Church in Canada will make for a great contribution to the readers of Faith Today.”

Bedard will also be contributing to several social media streams and other EFC communications work.

Faith Today is currently celebrating 30 years of connecting, equipping and informing evangelical Christians in Canada.
