After some fifty years in public ministry in Canada, I have this honour of serving globally for the church community. Travelling to over 15 countries a year, I meet with leaders, encouraging and providing counsel in areas of leadership, contemporary ministry and spiritual renewal. Often in a country, my visit will trigger a pastors’ conference, it may result in an attempt to deal with an issue of deep concern, to meet leadership of others church communions or to interface with local or national governments. We forget the aloneness many face. As one who represents some 600 million Christians globally, a visit can make the difference in how they see themselves and how others see the witness of the Evangelical community. It is such a deep privilege to serve this way, encouraging younger leaders as they boldly move forward in faith.
