EFC calls on parliamentary committee to address harms of illegal sexually explicit material 

The EFC sent a brief to a parliamentary committee on the harms of accessing illegal sexually explicit material, such as child sexual abuse material or intimate images shared without consent. The EFC called on the committee to address these harms, hold pornography platforms accountable and protect those who are vulnerable. Read the full brief here

EFC welcomes Special Rapporteur’s report on prostitution 

The EFC supports a groundbreaking international report that recognizes prostitution as a system of exploitation and violence. The report by the Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls recognizes that prostitution is both intrinsically linked to different forms of violence against women and girls and a form of violence in and of itself. See the EFC's letter to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in support of the report.

EFC senior ambassador joins multifaith press conference, will give interview about political engagement 

 

EFC senior ambassador Bruce J. Clemenger participated today in a press conference of the Canadian Interfaith Conversation as they released a statement, Standing Together Against Hate. The EFC is a member of the CIC. 

Clemenger will be interviewed on June 20 about evangelical political engagement on Back to the Bible’s indoubt podcast.  

EFC researcher presenting about small church research  

EFC researcher Rick Hiemstra will present on the Significant Church research, conducted in partnership with our EFC affiliates, at the Central Canada District of the Wesleyan Church of Canada Conference in Brockville on June 22. 

EFC prayer ambassador teaching Doctor of Ministry course

EFC prayer ambassador Roger Helland will be teaching a Doctor of Ministry modular course on Desiring God: Sacred Paths and Spiritual Mentors in Toronto at Tyndale Seminary, June 23-28.
