The EFC Condemns and Laments Attacks in Israel

The EFC joins with the World Evangelical Alliance and other religious leaders around the world in condemning and lamenting the horrific terrorist attacks in Israel. We pray for those who are mourning, injured, for the safe return of hostages, and for those fearing for their safety. We pray for a just and lasting peace in the region. A full WEA statement on the Holy Land conflict is available here

“Before It’s Too Late” EFC Campaign to Roll Back MAiD for Mental Illness

A vote on Bill C-314, which would roll back MAiD for mental illness, is expected in Parliament Oct. 18. If the bill passes, it will advance to a committee to be studied. If it does not pass, it will be dropped. Please contact your MP’s office – call, leave a message, send an email or write a letter. You can also circulate a petition in support of Bill C-314 and return it to your local MP. For more resources including sample wording for a brief letter or call, visit TheEFC.ca/C314.

Prayer to Stop MAiD for Mental Illness

The EFC is inviting your church to join in a collective prayer on Sunday, Oct. 22 for a stop to euthanasia for mental illness. Without God’s intervention, MAiD for mental illness will become legal in Canada next spring. Will you mark October 22 in your calendar and join us? Visit TheEFC.ca/MAiDPrayer for resources for churches.

Living in the Storm of Anxiety

Annual Campaign to Support Faith Today

Faith Today magazine no longer charges a subscription fee. Instead, it relies on donations to help cover the costs of furthering “Canada’s Christian conversation.” If the work of Faith Today has been of value to you, please keep this ministry going with even just one small charitable gift a year. This Week’s Prayer Prompts

This week’s prayer request is about palliative care. Pray for those at the end of life, who have received a terminal diagnosis or who have suffered a traumatic injury, and their families. Pray for our culture to be life-affirming and compassionate; for our churches to be known for supporting and caring for loving those at the end of life; pray for all Canadians to have access to high quality palliative care.

This week's EFC affiliate highlight focuses on Christian Medical and Dental Society. CMDA Canada exists to engage, encourage, and equip Christian doctors and dentists to glorify God by integrating faith in practice.

You can always find the week’s prayer prompts at TheEFC.ca/TakeAction.
