Church Supports Newcomers Turning Hurt into Healing

Make Positive Contact with Your MP this Summer

Parliament is on its annual summer hiatus, which means your MPs are back in their home ridings. Now is a good time to make an in-person connection with them. For ideas on how to do so, see last year’s Summer Citizenship Challenge.

Building Authentic Digital Community Online

Have you ever wondered how your organization can build authentic digital community? Our latest Thriving in Digital column draws on the experience of a Christian women’s collective for tips on how ministries can build an online presence characterized by community and connection rather than commodification and superficial engagement.

Guest columnist Shannen Powell wrote this column as part of our summer pass-the-mic initiative. Sign up at FaithToday.ca/SubscribeFree for a print subscription to read more articles like this.

Faith Today Seeking Post-Retirement Ministry Stories

Faith Today is looking for people who found new ministry opportunities after the age of 65. Do you know of someone who set out in a new direction after retirement, laying down one form of service only to take up another? We are seeking people who would be willing to share the story of how God called and equipped them for something surprising or new, at a time in life that might not always be known for starting new ministries. Email us at editor@faithtoday.ca.

Now Hiring: Event Coordinator in Ottawa or Toronto

The EFC is seeking a full-time Event Coordinator. This is a hybrid position based in Ottawa or Toronto. This Week’s Prayer Prompts

This week’s prayer request is about human trafficking.

Pray for healing and justice for victims of human trafficking and other forms of sexual exploitation, not only in Canada but also around the world. Pray that governments will be proactive in enacting laws that prevent the sexual exploitation of persons online and offline.

Catch up with some of the EFC’s latest initiatives in this area at TheEFC.ca/HumanTrafficking. (click “What’s Happening”).

This week's EFC affiliate highlight focuses on Defend Dignity. The EFC regularly partners with Defend Dignity, an initiative of The Christian and Missionary Alliance (an EFC affiliate denomination).

You can always find the week’s prayer prompts at TheEFC.ca/TakeAction.
