EFC sends brief to Department of Finance on budget priorities

The EFC has sent a brief to the Department of Finance on priorities for the budget this fall, making the same recommendations as a brief to the Finance Committee last month. The EFC asked for support for the charitable sector, maintenance of advancement of religion as a charitable purpose, and to not politicize charities. The brief also advocated for improved palliative care and a permanent strategy to combat human trafficking, and for increased funding to protect places of worship.

Prison ministries bring challenges, rewards

A recent study found most Christians recognize the importance of prison ministry yet aren’t sure how to be involved. Read about the challenges, opportunities and rewards of prison ministry in the Sep/Oct Faith Today cover story.
