EFC supports age verification bill for explicit content 

The EFC supports Bill C-270, a private member’s bill that would require commercial pornography producers and distributors to verify the age and consent of each person depicted in explicit content before it is uploaded. This would help protect children and victims of sexual abuse from having recordings of their abuse posted on commercial pornography platforms.  

EFC president at city-wide collaboration event, WEA meetings 

EFC president David Guretzki will be attending the Capitalyze Conference in Ottawa April 25-27. This event celebrates and aims to accelerate the impact of Christian city-wide movements in Ottawa, across Canada and internationally. 

Afterwards he will travel to Asia for WEA International Council meetings April 29-May 1. Please pray for wisdom for and consensus of the Council as they make important strategic decisions for the coming year. 

EFC senior ambassador at World Watch List launch 

EFC senior ambassador Bruce J. Clemenger will bring greetings from the EFC at the 2024 World Watch List presentation on Parliament Hill on April 30. The World Watch List is created annually by EFC affiliate Open Doors, which collects and analyzes data about places where Christians experience persecution and then ranks and lists the 50 countries where persecution is most severe.  

EFC researcher presents Parenting Faith project 

EFC researcher Rick Hiemstra is presenting on the Parenting Faith Research Project April 24 in-person in Toronto at Tyndale Seminary’s annual Wesley Studies Symposium.

Cap on international students hits Christian universities   

A decision by the Canadian government to limit the number of international students coming to Canada to study is affecting many Christian colleges and universities. John Longhurst reports in a new article at FaithToday.ca.
